Unpicking Ciaran's Jacket

I started explore all the main elements of symbolism within Ciaran's jacket to use as inspiration for design concepts. I have made them into a kind of photo-essay/concept board.

The main themes that noticed from observing the jacket and interviewing Ciaran about it were:

• Anarchy (Ciaran's dad used to be an anarchist) 
• Punks, Rockers, Skinheads, Bikers (subcultures which adopted the biker jacket)
• The Pogues and The Stranglers (the most prominent band names on the jacket)
• The police force (Ciaran's dad who owned the jacket is now a policeman)
• Navy blue- a colour associated with uniform and the Navy
